Harmony was incorporated and registered as a public company in South Africa on 25 August 1950 and later became a Randgold-managed company, exploiting the single Harmony mine lease.
The Harmony board of directors has overall accountability for guiding the strategic direction of the company, for ensuring an ethical culture and responsible corporate citizenship and for effective control and legitimacy.
Harmony’s executive management team comprises the chief executive officer, deputy chief executive officer, the financial director and one additional executive director, who together with five senior group executives, all sit on the group executive committee.
The Harmony board is comfortable that sufficient practices are, and have been put in place to promote Harmony’s reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.
