Harmony appoints a new general manager at Kalgold

Johannesburg. Thursday, 9 July. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (Harmony) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new general manager, Beyers Nel, at its Kalgold mine in the North West Province. Nel has nine years experience in the mining industry, most of which he spent working at Harmony’s mines, more recently as a mine manager at Elandsrand mine. He obtained a Bsc Mining Engineering qualification in 2000 and recently completed his MBA in Chicago.

Harmony’s Chief Executive, Graham Briggs says, “The skills and knowledge that Beyers has acquired over the years at our mines together with his qualifications, has equipped him with the expertise to take on the role as general manager at Kalgold, where the method of mining is opencast. We wish Beyers a safe and productive future at Kalgold.”
