Harmony is a gold mining specialist with a growing international copper footprint. Our higher-quality gold operations, together with the Eva Copper and Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu projects, ensure Harmony is well positioned to be a significant gold-copper producer. We are also the largest producer globally of gold from the retreatment of old tailings dams.
In South Africa, our nine underground operations are located within the world-renowned Witwatersrand Basin. In addition, we have an open-pit mine, Kalgold, on the Kraaipan Greenstone Belt as well as several surface retreatment operations.
In Papua New Guinea, Hidden Valley is an open-pit gold and silver mine. Our significant copper-gold portfolio includes a 50% stake in the Wafi-Golpu project in the Morobe Province, through a 50:50 joint venture with Newcrest.
The Eva Copper acquisition, concluded in December 2022, opens a new copper-gold frontier for Harmony, lowering our risk profile and providing additional scale and meaningful diversification.
As at 30 June 2024, our attributable gold and gold equivalent Mineral Resources are declared as 136.5Moz, and the attributable gold and gold equivalent Mineral Reserves are 40.3Moz.
